Archery open day for all

Marlborough Midweek mention, ArcheryPlus, 11 Nov 2015If you’ve been wanting to try your hand at archery but haven’t yet had the chance, Sunday 22 November is the day for you. As you may have seen in the Marlborough Express, you can come along to Lansdowne Park in Blenheim from 10.00am to 3.00pm (weather depending) to find out what this addictive sport is all about.

Archery is going through a revival thanks to movies like The Hunger Games, and given the numbers turning up at ArcheryPlus I’m keen to see if there’s scope to start an archery club here in Marlborough. A fantastic test of strength, speed and accuracy, archery is relatively easy for anyone to pick up and we teach children as young as eight. It’s also a great workout and the perfect stress release!

So on the day, we’ll have Glenn Holmes from Two Arrows Archery there with his beautiful handmade horse bows. We’ll have traditional targets to shoot at, and a target set out to 30 metres. It’s open to young and old and is suitable for all shapes, strengths and sizes – as we have bows to match the individual. We’ll be using mainly long bows, recurve bows and Glenn’s horse bows.  All being well the local Bow Hunters will have a sausage sizzle there too. There is no charge to attend this event.

So, if you’re already a fan, or think you might become one, come along to our archery open day on Sunday 22 November, let loose with a bow and arrow, and let’s talk.

Any enquiries can be directed to me at ArcheryPlus on 021 411 831.

Cheers
